First Official Avenger 4 trailer prepares for the emotional end
Avengers 4 is officially called Avengers: Endgame
Things look pretty bleak for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
That’s the takeaway from the first trailer for the fourth “Avengers” movie — a sequel that finds Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) scrambling to concoct a plan to defeat Thanos, the intergalactic baddie who destroyed half of all life in the universe in the previous installment. The highly anticipated new film, entitled “Avengers: Endgame,” hits theaters on April 26, 2019.
As fanboys and fangirls will remember, “Avengers: Infinity War” ended with the team in ruins and half of its members apparently disintegrated. The trailer for “Endgame” finds Iron Man floating in space with only a day’s worth of oxygen available to him. Given his diminishing chances for survival, Tony Stark’s sardonic side appears to have lost some of its edge. Back on Earth, Cap and Black Widow are cooking something up, but they don’t appear to be acting from a position of strength.
The first trailer for Avengers 4, officially called Avengers: Endgame, has arrived, celebrating Marvel’s 10-year achievement in building its Cinematic Universe.
It’s a journey through everything that’s happened over the last decade — from Tony Stark’s first jaunt as Iron Man to the devastating battle against Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, which was released earlier this year. Many of Earth’s mightiest heroes are still dealing with the loss of their close friends who faded into dust during Infinity War’s most climactic moment.
Marvel has kept details about Avengers: Endgame under wraps since it began shooting last year, but the trailer does tease a little more of what’s to come in the heroes’ last stand against Thanos.
Avengers 4 marks the final film within the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s current generation. It comprises 22 films, including Spider-Man: Homecoming and the upcoming Captain Marvel. Avengers 4 will reportedly be the last Marvel movie for some key actors, including Chris Evans, who seemingly bid farewell to his character, Captain America, earlier this year on Twitter. Other original Avengers actors, including Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, and Chris Hemsworth haven’t said if they’re leaving following Avengers: Endgame.
Avengers: Endgame will be released on April, earlier than expected. It’s preceded by Captain Marvel, and it will be followed by Spider-Man: Far From Home.
